It seems like the national press got lots of pics of Chicago area schools being cleaned, even though Chicago doesn't seem to be ground zero. Maybe someone called a press conference?

I wish that CPS would provide the kind of money for repairs and cleaning for existing schools that it prefers to provide to open new schools for fewer and fewer students.

How about cleaning out Cook County Jail? Did anybody see the recent Reader story about how Stroger fired the people who would have helped do a national study on MRSA control in the jail, which has had a terrible problem with it for years and which is getting out into communities?
